About the Job:

The Lead Sterile Processing Tech is the individual who is primarily responsible for all surgical instrument used in the operating room. Accurate documentation of all instrument trays must be kept and updated daily. This individual will also assist the manager with the daily operation of the Sterile Processing Department.

What You’ll Do:

  • Makes sure all surgical instrumentation is ready with operating room crew. Must work with multiple sales reps.
  • Maintains precise inventory of in-house, borrowed, and consigned trays.
  • In-services employees when new products arrive.
  • Answers staff instrumentation questions.
  • Provides Sterile Processing personnel resources.
  • Decontaminates, prepares, and sterilizes equipment and supplies per Elliot Hospital and infection control rules.
  • Steam and gas sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and cart washers are operated.
  • Troubleshoots equipment. Follows documentation procedure. Notifies manager.
  • Orient and train new hires.
  • Uses computer data as needed.

Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience as a Certified Sterile Processor.
  • Must be Certified Sterile Processing Technician. Certification as an instrument Tech is preferred.
