Job Summary

A Building Services Lead's first responsibility is for coordinating day-to-day maintenance and initiates improvement systems to ensure optimal support operations for a clean, safe working environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work in a fast pace environment, manage multiple tasks, understand processes and demonstrate flexibility to get the job done.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
  • Experience Desired: Prior Experience in the maintenance field; Customer Service Experience; Knowledge of Market District operational procedures
  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Education Desired: Associates Degree in engineering or related field is preferred, but may be substituted by progressive equivalent job experience.
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 100 pounds

Job Responsibilities

  • Actively support a culture of safety which includes, but is not limited to, food safety, Team Member safety and customer safety.
  • Actively participate in, and promote, an environment which embraces diversity, inclusion, and respect for Team Members, Customers, Vendors, and the Community.
  • Regular communication with General Manager Department manager and Regional Facilities Manager to ensure facilities needs are handled in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and coordinate all maintenance service and repairs pertaining to building and related equipment. Implement all maintenance and general procurement of materials and parts, schedule installations and oversee that such repairs are accomplished in a safe and timely manner.
  • Oversee store's participation in Route maintenance program.
  • Conduct in-service training and implement safety regulations and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records with regard to inspection of equipment and general preventative maintenance including rotational work assignment and over-time allowances.
  • Supervise cleaning which can include, but not limited to, taking out trash, dusting, cleaning break room, vacuuming, and changing light bulbs, putting up shelves, snow removal and other tasks as needed. Supervise and monitor the maintenance of all restrooms throughout the day.
    Monitor supply cupboards and supply orders to maintain an acceptable inventory. Perform routine maintenance of electrically powered janitorial equipment.
  • Supervise building interior and exterior by maintaining furniture, kitchen equipment, fixtures, counters, walls and woodwork, sweeping, cleaning and vacuuming, furniture and kitchens. Oversee store recycling program.
  • Seasonal maintenance as needed (i. e. canopy maintenance, daylight savings time on outside lights, winterizing buildings).
  • Schedule and perform Pest/Extermination inspections and emergency generator inspections according to established procedures.
  • Monitor emergency generators on a weekly basis.
