Certification Details RN-AZ or compact state license ACLS BLS Job Details The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides a high level of care for the Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures. Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Our Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) is where our patients are prepped for procedures and recovered post procedure. Our team works with high risk, high acuity patients and pride ourselves in superb outcomes. Bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV) are performed in COU. Job Requirements MUST HAVE: RN-AZ or compact state license ACLS BLS Will consider experience in the following areas on a case-by-case basis: PACU, ICU, TELEMETRY, CATH LAB, SURGERY CENTER Schedule Information Varies: 3 x 12s: Days (0600-1800, 0700-1900, 0800-2000) Potential for call on Saturdays from 0700-1500 (this is a new process we are working on) Unit Specific Information COU - CARDIAC OBSERVATION UNIT Admit patients Prep patients for Cath procedures (charting pre procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation) Prep patients for Cardioversions (CV), and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) Recover patients following Cath who had conscious sedation Sedate, Circulate, and document bedside procedures; CV & TEE Discharge patients (teaching, documentation, and physical discharge)
