As a trainee, you will work as needed to assist nursing in a variety of duties on various units by assignment until a CNA class is provided for you.nnEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEnnHigh School graduate preferred – No Experience NecessarynnEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities :nnReceives assignment at the beginning of their shift.nnGathers and sets up supplies for AM/PM carennMakes beds and tidies up resident rooms after morning carennRemoves soiled linen from beds if needed and takes to soiled linen bin, replaces with fresh linennnWatches for torn linen and gowns, reports to Charge Nurse/Unit ManagernnReturns basins and toiletries to bedside stand, be sure all are labelednnKeeps bedside stands, closets, bathrooms neat and cleannnProvides housekeeping to resident rooms as needed including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and dustingnnAssists CNA’s transferring residents with mechanical lifts as the second assist operating the lift ONLYnnPut away clean personal laundry appropriately.nnAssist in transporting of residents to various departments and activities in the facility and outside appointments.nnAssists in distribution of food and feeding residents (upon completion of 15 hour feeding training)) at mealtime in the main dining area.nnPasses between meal nourishment and beverages to appropriate residents.nnDocuments numerical information into the kiosk such as meal intakes and fluid passes.nnSpends 1:1 time with residents in need as indicated by the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/DONnnProviding companionship by listening and conversingnnOffering 1:1 activities such as card playing, other games, reading, outside timennProvides companionship to residents in need in small groups (1-3 residents) as indicated by the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/DON.nnAccompanies residents to outside medical appointments as deemed appropriate by Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/DON.nnAnswers call lights and provides assistance if able or notifies nursing staff of resident needs.nnAssists Nursing staff and unit secretary to keep supply rooms stocked, neat, and tidy.nnOther duties as assigned.nnKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:nnAble to maintain confidential information.nnMust be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.nnMust be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, angry people within the facility .nnMust follow all infection control policies and procedures.nnMust be aware of all abuse reporting requirements.nnMust attend all education/in-services required of the nursing department.nnPersonal RequirementsnnAppropriate scrub attire as required by departmental dress code.nnMust be able to work independently.nnComplies with code of conduct and proper badge identificationnnPhysical RequirementsnnMust be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.nnMust be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of fifty (50) poundsnnSits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hoursnnMust be in good health, be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this positionnnHIPAA Compliance :nnDemonstrates knowledge of and adheres to LCCN/Presbyterian policies and HIPAA regulations governing the confidentiality and security of protected health information for both manual and electronic resident records, charts, information and other confidential information including (but not limited to) employee records, computer access codes and passwords.
