Job Summary: The Daycare Owner-Operator will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the daycare center, ensuring the highest standards of care and education for children. This role involves both administrative and hands-on responsibilities, including overseeing staff, managing budgets, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: - Oversee daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Financial Management: - Develop and manage the daycare's budget, including tuition rates, expenses, and payroll.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to ensure profitability and growth.
- Handle billing, collections, and financial reporting.
Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure the daycare complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation required by licensing agencies.
Program Development: - Design and implement age-appropriate educational programs that promote the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
- Regularly assess and update the curriculum to meet the needs of the children and the community.
- Coordinate activities that involve parents and the community.
Health and Safety: - Ensure the daycare environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for emergencies, health issues, and safety.
- Ensure that all staff are trained in emergency procedures, first aid, and CPR.
Family Engagement: - Build strong relationships with parents and families, fostering open communication and involvement in their children's education.
- Address concerns and feedback from parents promptly and professionally.
Marketing and Enrollment: - Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new families and maintain full enrollment.
- Manage the enrollment process, including tours, applications, and onboarding of new families.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and early education best practices.
- Experience in business management, including budgeting, financial planning, and marketing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations governing childcare facilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
