Founded in Kingston in 1954, Homestead Land Holdings Limited has grown to become one of Canadas largest and most respected owners of multi-residential apartment buildings. We have branch offices in London, Hamilton, Toronto, and Ottawa with the head office in Kingston and over 200 apartment buildings in various cities in Ontario.
We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Construction Labourer to support various new construction projects for our high-rise apartment buildings in the Kingston area.
Responsibilities include: - Available for full time Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts with the possibility of overtime.
- Installation and maintenance of perimeter fencing, signage, safety boxes, guard rails, tie off anchors, temporary hoarding, elevator beams, overhead protection.
- Cleaning and stocking washrooms no less than three times daily; completing the washroom Record of Servicing.
- Daily site cleanup: garbage removal, recycling, sweeping, or mopping. Cleanup will include exterior grounds, garages, stairwells, hallways, and common areas and will evolve and expand through the various phases of construction and occupancy.
- Maintenance of clear access and egress through water, snow, and ice removal, or other slippery material removal.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any deficiencies or inoperability to the Site Superintendent.
- Maintenance of temporary lighting, winter protection, and heaters.
- Hoist operation and maintaining a clean hoist loading dock.
- Loading, unloading, moving, and distribution of construction materials to the appropriate work areas or storage areas.
- Miscellaneous painting prior to building occupancy as required, such as electrical closets and stairwells.
- Miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Construction Site Superintendent or the Construction Project Manager.
- Recognition and reporting of safety hazards on a construction site including but not limited to falling, slipping, tripping, airborne and material exposure, struck-by incidents, excessive noise, vibration-related injury, scaffold-related injury, and electrical incidents.
Requirements: - Minimum 3 years related experience.
- Minimum secondary school diploma.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to lift heavy loads.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a team environment.
Wage rate is $20/hr
