Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our growing projects team in Mississauga.

Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the Project Engineer will provide technical assistance in the planning, designing, evaluating, executing, and handover of the assigned projects in accordance with company, client, and project requirements.

The tasks you'll perform:

  1. Assist with ensuring compliance with the project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards.
  2. Contribute to project control activities including scheduling, forecasting, and other deliverables to a consistently high standard.
  3. Assist with and perform procurement, inspection, and expediting activities.
  4. Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining the project quality management facility to ensure project quality targets and reporting are met.
  5. Assist in the preparation of contract scope of works and commercial tender reviews.
  6. Carry out assigned project activities, including site engineer duties, in a manner that prioritizes safety, environment, community, and industrial relations.
  7. Participate in the Project quality management process including carrying out inspections at vendor’s premises and review of vendor quality documentation.
  8. Contribute to the estimating and scheduling components of scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies.
  9. Contribute to the preparation of construction reports, contracts, and schedules, managing tender and contract documentation for review in accordance with quality assurance.
  10. Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
  11. Register and file all relevant project documentation in accordance with the Company approved procedures.
  12. Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
  13. Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.

The expertise you'll bring:

  1. Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
  2. 3-5 years’ postgraduate experience in a similar position.
  3. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units.
  5. Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and co-workers.
  6. Proactively seek and accept guidance and feedback provided by subject matter experts.
  7. Driven and determined to achieve objectives through continued professional development.
  8. Good organisational and time management skills.
  9. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment.
  10. Solid technical aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
