As the Director of Product Design and User Experience at CONFORMiT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our UI/UX design team. Following a human-centered product design approach (ISO 9241-210), each designer collaborates with a specific product manager, relying on the team to determine features, behavior, and priorities, bringing their designs to life. Additionally, they identify usability issues in the product areas they are responsible for. You will embody a practical and strategic catalyst role, elevating our practices and refining existing tools. Location: Saguenay, QC or Home Office (Canada or Worldwide).

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in product development stages, ensuring the quality of UX deliverables created by your team.
  • Support product teams in prioritizing initiatives related to user experience.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the existing design system, ensuring its adoption and evolution.
  • Implement and manage collaborative processes within the team to ensure effective interaction between designers and between product managers and designers.
  • Organize user research initiatives and oversee their documentation.
  • Recruit and train a world-class team, assessing candidates’ potential and promoting talent diversity.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions regarding the product direction and engage in shaping its vision.
  • Provide personalized coaching and support for the professional development of your team members.
  • Enhance team productivity by managing performance effectively and contributing to creating a climate of psychological safety.

Your Profile:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading teams of designers or UX researchers working on complex products.
  • Comfortable working in a highly iterative and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changes.
  • Proficiency in software such as Axure or other prototyping tools like Figma.
  • In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and accessibility.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ease in sharing knowledge.

Advantages:

  • Flexible work schedules (for real!)
  • Group insurance (including dental, wow!)
  • Sports during lunch breaks
  • Team breakfasts and 5 to 7 every month
  • The option of working from the “Home Office”
  • A pension plan
  • An active social club
