Join our team in continuing to build on our success within the Investment Only (IO) and Group Capital Accumulation Plan (GCAP) marketplace in Canada. We support over 300 Defined benefits, Foundations, Endowments and Group Reserve accounts in the IO space and over 12,000 plan sponsors in the GCAP space as we look to continue to expand our growth in these areas.
Supporting the advisor and consultant communities in Quebec/Eastern Ontario and Maritimes, your primary responsibilities will be to support and grow an established block of clients. This will be achieved through developing key relationships with our current clients, supporting the prospecting of new GCAP clients and leading our IO sales initiatives within your region. The successful candidate will be based in Montreal and must be fluently bilingual (written and verbal) in French and English.
What you will do
Support and grow our Institutional Investment Only business by leading the service and sales of existing and new client relationships.
Service existing high valued GCAP clients alongside your regional (Business Development) Account Executives and Client Relationship Consultant by acting as the subject matter expert when it comes to investment fund solutions, fund mappings, and economic/market commentary.
Analyze and develop a recommended investment fund line-up (GCAP and IO) for our Investment Counselling and Business Development teams to use in their practice based on the efforts of our Investment Manager Review (IMR) process.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with consultants/advisors alongside our account executive team.
Be a contributing member in support of the sales process from request for proposals to finalist presentations.
Work collaboratively and in some cases lead specific initiatives within our Institutional Investment Solutions team to ensure Canada Life’s success in this market.
Active participant in select regional industry conferences by supporting our efforts to showcase our offering.
Promote additional products and services with consultants, clients, Account Executives and Client Relationship consultants to enhance client retention and foster growth.
What you will bring
At least 10 years of sales and service experience preferred with a proven track record of success.
Background in the financial services industry with specific knowledge in the Investment Only (Defined Benefit Consulting) and Group Retirement Savings segment.
Exceptional collaborative relationship-building skills and an established rapport with multiple consulting organizations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in French and English.
Proven negotiation and public speaking skills.
Superior presentation skills with a focus on investment products and services offered to intermediaries, pension committees and plan sponsors.
Effective time management and strong problem-solving skills to achieve sales and retention goals.
CFA Charterholder and/or FSA, FCIA designations and be willing to become insurance licensed within the province of Quebec.
University Degree in a marketing-related field.
Familiarity with Salesforce and leveraging its capabilities for prospecting purposes.
Proficient in using Morningstar Direct in your practice.
Proficient in MS Office products.
Comfortable with the use of social media (LinkedIn) to promote/support our messaging and thought leadership.
Requires vehicle and flexibility for travel - 10-15% travel expectations.
Candidates will be engaging Anglophone clients and will need to be fluently bilingual in both French and English.
The base salary for this position is between $94,800 - $166,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e., annual bonus, commission, etc.).
