Job Description
Join our team of highly accomplished technical professionals implementing the latest in technologies ranging from cloud-hybrid data centers to data center switching to private multi-overlay wide-area interconnects to profile-based secured wired and wireless user access.
Build and support our cloud hybrid network of several AWS accounts, on-prem locations, and vendor extranets using very resilient direct connectivity and the latest AWS network transit services in our efforts to adopt cloud-first as a solution philosophy for our numerous applications both for internal teams and for our millions of customers.
This position will provide top tier engineering and troubleshooting for the Paymentus corporate and production data network devices and services. We are looking for a detail oriented and highly organized individual, who follows best practices for network engineering and strives for strategic vision in the design, planning and implementation of network services.
Projects Implementation: Participate in complex project work, including functional subsystem upgrades for mission-critical network devices and services as well as strategic upgrades to the network core in corporate offices and data centers.
Work on requirements, provide analysis for network and services specifications, network design, network partitioning, and network architecture definition.
Take part in the development of network test, validation, and integration plans on projects, and maintain network integrity throughout project development.
Network Operations: Maintain daily operational responsibility for reliability of Paymentus corporate and production networks.
Manage enterprise network systems and services to an operational uptime of 99.95%.
Work on design and implementation of network services and perform network testing and evaluation testing on a regular basis.
Monitor ongoing availability of network services and processes.
Validate that production network configurations are functioning as required by validating log flows, event threshold settings, and alarm notification settings.
Participates in network team on-call rotation by responding to network-related alerts.
Qualifications Proficient hands-on experience and understanding of fundamental networking concepts and protocols including IP subnetting and routing.
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Computer/Network Engineering or related field; two to three years as a data network specialist that preferably includes recent experience in AWS/public cloud infrastructure management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience using Linux as an advanced user/systems administrator with bash/shell scripting knowledge.
Knowledge of network monitoring and performance tools for networks, including for cloud network infrastructure.
Experience working with CheckPoint, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Dell network devices.
Prior scripting/coding experience would be beneficial.
Automation experience specific to cloud networking build & configuration in AWS is an asset.
Experience with the public cloud network infrastructure of GCP is a plus.
Practical experience related to LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity in a hybrid-cloud data center environment would be tremendously helpful in this role.
Experience with infrastructure as code tooling is an asset.
Must be a detail-oriented and highly organized individual, that follows best practices for network engineering and strives for strategic vision in the design, planning and implementation of network services.
Strategic thinker, strong interest and aptitude in collaborative big picture, enterprise-wide network infrastructure roadmaps.
Passionate about network security and information security in general.
Committed to improve processes and overall customer satisfaction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially regarding taking requirements from application owners, developers and consumers of the cloud network and translating them into networking specifications for implementation and into non-technical verbiage for summary to leadership.
