Job Description

The Opportunity:

You will be responsible for ensuring a harmonized global publication plans exist and are executed across all in-line therapeutic areas at CSL Behring. This includes the incorporation of Good Publications Practices, internal guidance documents, and requires effective cross-functional alignment during the planning process and communication during all portions of execution of the plans. You will oversee the Publications team and is accountable for that team’s deliverables.

The Role:

  • Partners with Medical TA leads to develop strategic publication plans

  • Improve processes for the development/review of publications including congress materials

  • Ensures publications are executed according to timelines of the publication plans

  • Provide expert writing and editing support to ensure timely production of high-quality documents (abstracts, posters, slide presentations, manuscripts, letters to editor, etc.) for publication in medical/scientific journals or presentation at meetings.

  • Manage including vendor management and/or review and interpret data and source documents for information required for publication.

  • Actively engage internal and external authors and other key stakeholders in the development of publication plans and strategy at the individual dataset, study, and/or compound level.

  • Responsible for scientific publication writing including abstracts, posters/oral presentations and manuscript and be responsible for the overall production of publications and compliance with standard operating procedures/industry standards.

  • Provide direction, oversight and editing for contract medical writers and junior level medical writers.

  • Follow international guidelines including but not limited to: International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME), Good Publication Practices (GPP), CONSORT Guidelines, American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style, and Council of Biology Editors.

  • Lead development and maintenance of document templates, style guides, electronic document management and publication review and approval system.

  • Ensure utilization of the PubsHub globally for all publication-related activities.

  • Provide oversight of completed, ongoing and future publications and manage a publication tracker for all TA's.

  • Ensure appropriate copyright is obtained for all MA related assets

Your skills and experience:

  • MD/PharmD/PhD or equivalent with 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotherapeutics industry experience building and leading publications in a matrix organization

  • Ability to think strategically in addition to experience in operationalizing scientific publication and communication strategies

  • Experience building and leading matrixed teams in a global organization

  • Experience in biomedical research, scientific analysis and writing

  • Influential leader who builds relationships across stakeholder types

  • Executive presence with ability to communicate complex data persuasively and relate study results and knowledge of therapeutic area to industry-specific applications
