Sanitation Engineer
Location: Lincoln, NE
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $18/hr
We are currently seeking a dedicated Sanitation Engineer to join our team in Lincoln, NE. One position is for the early shift (~4-5am start) and the other for the late shift (~3pm start). When applying, please indicate your shift preference and availability.
Job Description:
As a Sanitation Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include ensuring cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout the facility. You will be tasked with maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
EHS Responsibilities - All Associates:
- Know, understand, and comply with all *Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)* guidelines
- Report unsafe conditions, injuries, illnesses, and hazardous materials releases
- Wear appropriate **personal protective equipment (PPE)**
- Attend all required EHS training programs
- Follow all safe work procedures
Key Job Responsibilities:
-Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and scrubbing walls, floors, lighting, vents, and pipes. Cleaning windows, glass, and mirrors. Operating auto scrubbers.
-Sanitizing: Daily sanitation tasks and cleaning of transition areas.
-Waste Management: Collecting and disposing of waste, recycling materials, and handling lab waste.
-Hazardous Materials: Safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
-Equipment Maintenance: Inspecting and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.
-Health & Safety: Adhering to strict health and safety protocols and enforcing safety regulations.
-Coordination: Monitoring cleaning schedules, reporting maintenance or repair issues, and ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
-Gowning for Clean Zones: Distributing, collecting, and sending out gowns for cleaning.
-Physical Demands: Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs, perform repetitive tasks, and work on your feet for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent work ethic
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and supervisors
- Ability to work independently, as well as a reliable team player
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and cleaning agents
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and protocols
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks
Shift Information:
- Early Shift: ~4-5am start
- Late Shift: ~3pm start
