Job Summary
General Description of Position Goals
Assist the school nurses in providing a quality health services program for students throughout the district. Will provide a variety of supportive services to enable school nurses in implementing a comprehensive health program, and will provide clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Essential Job Functions
I. Assist the school nurses in organizing in-services, workshops, and screening programs (Vision/Hearing, Dental, Scoliosis, etc.)
2. Provide clerical assistance for health programs which may include preparation of materials for in-services, screenings, health policies, procedural manuals, and other job related tasks.
3. Provide supervision of specialized health care procedures by students, i.e. Blood glucose and provide specialized health care procedures as needed.
4. Monitoring and recording immunizations on student health records and computer database under the direction of school nurse.
5. Follow up with parents/guardian on health issues of student population, i/e. Medi-Cal, Health Families, Healthy Kids programs.
6. Compile and submit data of county and state mandated reports.
7. Provide assistance with Medi-Cal billings.
8. Participate in meetings and staff development sessions as directed.
9. Assist with planning, organization and training of principals and other site personnel on completion of the quarterly MAA surveys.
I0. Assist in maintaining contract with Medi-Ca administration vendor regarding paperwork submitted.
11. Review, correct and accept MAA surveys.
12. Attends meetings as needed for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in specialized physical healthcare procedures.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing:
CPR and First Aide Certification
