A career as a Chief capital model and capital management Advisor in the Internal Audit team at National Bank, you will contribute to the team's audit mandates and advisory mandates while developing the knowledge of your colleagues in your area of expertise. As a Chief Advisor specializing in regulatory capital management and model risk management, you will be involved in capital management mandates and model governance related to the 3 pillars of the Basel Accord, as well as other processes relevant to your area of expertise.
Your job
Conduct organization-wide audits and assessments to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of the approach to regulatory capital management, model governance, and related topics
Target significant risks and assess the effectiveness of governance, processes and controls aimed at mitigating them
Analyze the problems encountered, raise significant issues and make recommendations to the teams concerned
In collaboration with relevant partners from the 1st and 2nd lines of defense, identify the fundamental causes and support them in identifying innovative and feasible solutions
Present findings and recommendations to relevant executives and managers and write audit reports
Provide regular, rigorous follow-up on the progress of the action plans developed following the work of Internal Audit and regulatory authorities, and ensure the quality of documentation
Carry out continuous monitoring in order to monitor the evolving context of the internal and external environment
Represent internal audit on various relevant committees and regulatory bodies
Advise and support auditors in your field of expertise
Your team
Within the Internal Audit sector, you will be part of a team of 19 professional colleagues and report to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit - Credit, International and Commercial. Prerequisite
Bachelor's degree related to the industry and 10 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree related to the business sector and 7 years of relevant experience
At least 7 years of experience in audit or risk management within a financial institution, other combinations of relevant experience could be considered
In-depth knowledge of reference frameworks, applicable regulations and good practices in capital management, credit underwriting models / models related to Basel, IFRS9 and financial crime regulations and others related subjects
Demonstrated leadership and strong ability to understand business reality, adapt practices and operating methods accordingly and influence at different hierarchical levels
Ability to simplify and synthesize concepts
Ability to understand complex realities, solve problems and be innovative in proposing solutions
Available to travel from time to time
