BMC’s SaaS Ops team is looking for a DevOps Engineer for the DevOps Services team. The team is responsible for leading designs, development, and implementation of deployment and automation tools, as well as design processes to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of shared services in the SaaS environment.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
Deploy and maintain shared products and tools across various cloud platforms in AWS, Google, Oracle, and other cloud providers.
Automate deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle activities for the applications.
Support services in the DevOps portfolio to manage operational lifecycle for shared services.
Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to create a seamless process for code deployment and system management in production environments.
Working with a wide technical stack: Cloud providers (AWS, OCI, GCP), CI/CD (Jenkins, Ansible), DBs (Redis, Postgres, OpenSearch), SCM (Git, Harbor), Messaging and Observability (Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus).
Experience with writing scripts in the following is a plus: Bash, GO and Python.
Provide support with architectural designs for Zero downtime operations, scaling and improving observability.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
3-5 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance in Canada.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field; relevant certifications (ITIL, MCSE, VCP, AWS, GCP, OCI) are a plus.
Good experience in Kubernetes, Bash or Python scripting with hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines following best practices.
Experienced with managed services and shared resources on cloud platforms including Redis, Kafka, and Harbor.
Proficient in general services offered by the popular cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud) such as RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, OpenSearch.
Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and project management tools (JIRA).
Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, utilizing scripts and tools to automate tasks.
Knowledge of Security best practices in order to conduct vulnerability assessments and support incident response when necessary.
Implement reporting and dashboards for observability into service uptime, configurations management and service auditing.
Demonstrated ability to assess and communicate risks considering complexity, resource allocation, and timeline constraints.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
Familiarity with monitoring tools and services (Prometheus, Grafana, StatusCast, etc.) and SRE practices.
Experience with BMC Helix product suite – Innovation Suite, Remedy, CMDB, Discovery, RSSO.
Experience in microservices, database, and API implementation.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and automation playbooks.

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at/near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86,250 - $143,750.
