The Opportunity:
The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets and data flows, as well as designing and developing Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights and recommendations to our business partners.
The Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in data-driven projects and ensure the accuracy of reports. They will also be responsible for assisting the deal entry analyst in entering trades into Allegro, as well as the ongoing development and maintenance of business intelligence (BI) reporting and analytical solutions.
Responsibilities:
Reporting
Design, develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI that effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders.
Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate and analyze the data from various databases or sources.
Implement Power Automate workflows to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Utilize Power Apps to create user-friendly apps for data entry and management.
Analysis
Evaluate business processes, anticipate, and uncover requirements, determine areas of improvement for existing solutions and processes.
Gather information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports that generate meaningful insights.
Trade Deal Entry & Allegro
Support the deal entry analyst in entering trades to Allegro.
Support and fulfill ad-hoc report building and analysis as required.
Education:
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics would be an asset; however, relevant experience or education would also be considered.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
Experience in creating dashboards and reports using Power BI and validating results with business stakeholders.
Ability to query data and draft reports using Power Query (M), DAX, and SQL are mandatory.
Proficiency in developing solutions using Power Platform (Power Automate & Power Apps) for process improvement and efficiency.
Experience in working with JIRA or similar project management tools.
The ideal candidate will possess strong business, analytical and critical thinking skills. They will have the ability to work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, while maintaining professional communication and accurate analysis of the business.
Strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
Ability to adjust to changing and conflicting demands, responsibilities, and issues.
Understanding of Agile methodology, project management principles and emerging AI technologies.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Python, R, and Databricks.
Experience in the oil and gas industry.
Experience working with ETRM applications (Allegro).
