Location: Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Hawaii.
Position: Part-time
Duties: - Select appropriate music for each weekly service in consultation with the Catholic priest.
- Submit a proposed plan for the music to be performed each week.
- Conduct one-hour rehearsal sessions weekly.
- Prepare and present slides with lyrics for each service if requested.
- Recruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregation.
- Direct the choir and manage musical aspects during the service, ensuring a blend of traditional, contemporary, and new age music styles as appropriate.
- Coordinate the setup and proper placement of microphones and other audio equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored after each service.
Requirements: - Experience leading a worship service preferred.
- Ability to read and play traditional, contemporary, and new age music.
- Familiarity with current liturgical traditions of the Catholic Church.
- Ability to play piano and/or organ, direct a choir, and sing.
- Capability to recruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregation.
- Competence in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
