Job Summary: The Powder Coat Technician will be responsible for applying powder coating to various metal parts and components. This role involves preparing surfaces, operating powder coating equipment, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Job Location: West Jordan
Shift: 7am-330pm, Monday-Friday. Must be able to work OT as needed.
Responsibilities: Applicants could be required to do any of the following:
  • Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sandblasting, or applying primer as needed
  • Set up and calibrate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, and ovens
  • Apply powder coating to metal parts using electrostatic spray guns
  • Ensure proper coating thickness and coverage according to specifications
  • Monitor and adjust equipment settings to achieve desired results.
  • Inspect coated parts for defects, including inconsistent coverage, runs, or overspray
  • Conduct tests to ensure coating durability, adhesion, and finish quality
  • Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Manage and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations
  • Document coating processes and production metrics as required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production schedules and quality issues.
Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in powder coating or related field is a plus
  • Proven experience in powder coating or a similar role preferred
  • Familiarity with powder coating equipment, techniques, and safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect work for quality
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy parts as required
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Okay being around noise, dust and chemicals
