Autodesk’s Advanced Consumer Group is looking for a Front End Web Developer that cares as much about technology as they do for the user experience. The Digital Arts team in Toronto has big plans for expanding the Pixlr and Sketchbook product lines onto the web. You’ll be helping to create Digital Arts products like SketchBook and Pixlr which have loyal, creative and passionate users who expect solid, robust and elegant products.

What you’ll be doing:
Build apps that allow the next generation of digital artists to shine and show off.
Find out where the interactive web is going next.
Speak to an audience of millions.
Listen and respond when they tell you what’s wrong.
Pushing yourself, have the drive to build award-winning software.
Work closely with designers to come up with compelling interactions.
Build creative web apps that will be used as professional utilities, where users spend hours working and expect not to lose even a second of that work.
Participate in a collaborative environment with a cross-functional team.
Build with APIs and shareable functionality in mind.
Build out functionality that balances both the user experience and performance.
Maintain existing platforms and applications.
Define our new Stack.
What you’ve done:
Developed a healthy sense of humour.
4-5 years work on large scale internet applications.
Degree in computer engineering / science or equivalent work experience.
Experience creating high-performance, cross-browser client-side code that is robust, scalable, and cacheable.
Relational, Document and Key/Value databases.
Web infrastructure, distributed systems and third-party service integration.
Understood the engineering aspects of software development (unit testing, continuous integration, cross-browser compatibility, code reviews, design docs).
Experience with server and client-side development.
Thrived in an agile, iterative, things-will-change-often environment.
Benchmarked, debugged and profiled applications.
LAMP stack.
What you’ve picked up:
HTML & JavaScript.
Flash / Air or Silverlight or jQuery.
Git and Github.
MySQL, MongoDB.
Memcached, Redis.
Node.js.
C++ or Java or C#.
Node.js and Express.
AWS or Linode.
Would be nice if you knew:
WebGL.
Scala, GO, Haskell.
Other types of app development (desktop, mobile, embedded).
