Summary

The Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance & emergency repairs to all production machinery, striving to improve equipment reliability & glove quality, as part of the maintenance team.

Essential Functions
n
n- Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, work orders, and communicate with incoming shifts.
n- Perform machine set up and repair assembly and packaging equipment.
n- Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment.
n- Ability to work on low voltage and 120-480vac equipment, starters, motors, vfd’s, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc.
n- Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
n- Read schematics and blueprints in order to interpret, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues to properly and safely repair.
n- Perform repairs and upgrades of the machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation.
n- Install electronic parts and hardware, using soldering equipment and hand tools
n- Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
n- Communicate regarding issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
n- Perform electrical and distribution lock out/ tag out method steady with customary safety protocol.
n- Record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance Manager to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders, time cards
n- Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
n- Participate in overtime assignments as required.
n- Provide “on call” coverage as needed.
n- Mechanic is required to supply their own hand tools and a lockable tool box.
n- Working in a general manufacturing environment.
n- Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager.

Qualifications
n
n- Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology field and or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
n- 1-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
n- Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge; OSHA, safety, etc.
n- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
n- Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and Production needs.
n- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 55 lbs.

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
