Schewel Home Class A - CDL Driver Job Description Reports to Fleet Manager SUMMARY: Drives tractor trailer to deliver merchandise to Schewel Home locations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Drives truck to deliver merchandise to store locations
• Oversees proper maintenance and upkeep of truck
• Re-secure the load after every stop
• Break down the load at each location
• Maintain a neat appearance and attitude
• Maintain proper paperwork
- Electronic Log
- Transfers from store to store
- Central picking report
• Remain Department of Transportation compliant in regards to DOT physical
• Must be able to cross state lines
CUSTOMER RELATIONS: Maintain good communications with customers i.e. Store team
Work professionally and responsibly with Store Management
EMPLOYEE/RELATIONS/MANAGEMENT: Demonstrate good people handling skills by fostering cooperation, teamwork, and setting and meeting goals
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in maintaining a clean tractor trailer
• Assist dispatch/fleet manager as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES To preform this job successfully, an individual must be able to preform each job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. This position requires an individual who is honest, reputable, dependable and has both the ability and desire to serve the customers in an efficient and professional manner. Must have good communication and time management skills.
Must have a valid Commercial Driver Licenses (Class A - CDL) issued in the state that the potential employee resides with a clean driving record. Must have the ability to read and understand documents such as delivery paperwork, safety rules and regulations.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hand or fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to move or lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to visually inspect
merchandise and documents. The employee MUST be able to work up to14 hour days and must be able to drive up to 450 miles a day.
