WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Deliver, pick up and transfer products manufactured and distributed out of the assigned facility to retail/warehouse customers and contractor jobsites in a timely, safe, efficient manner. Also responsible for setting silos on contractor jobsites and pick up empty bulk bags/pallets as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate tractor and trailer and/or boom truck to deliver and pick up products, silos, pallets, and empty bulk bags. May also include loading/unloading with boom and/or mounted forklift.
  • Position product/silos on truck and secure them for transit in accordance to DOT regulations for load securement. All loads are to be double strapped without exception. Delivery loads may need a tarp dependent on weather.
  • Drive truck in an accurate, safe, and timely manner to destination, unload products. Record pallet count on delivery ticket.
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions and/or ask questions about deliveries.
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspection of truck pursuant to DOT regulations that includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, and other controls for loading and unloading. Daily inspection of Moffett for defects may also be required. Perform post-trip inspection after every load.
  • Inspect silos for minor damage and cleanliness before leaving delivery and perform cleaning and minor repairs as needed per the silo inspection list. Inspect silos prior to pick up and report major issues or repairs needed on silos to supervisor for repair.
  • Upon arriving on jobsite, safely maneuver truck in often very unstable ground conditions. Be sensitive to customer's property, equipment, and conditions. Be able to assess unsafe conditions and communicate effectively with customer when customer requests cannot be accommodated.
  • Perform minor truck and trailer repairs that may include installing light bulbs, marker lights, and reflectors. Report major repairs to Dispatcher. Maintain cleanliness on interior and exterior of truck.
  • Deliver products to retail customers/distributors requires loading/returning pallets, counting pallets, obtaining customer's signature on paperwork, and returning signed paperwork to dispatcher daily.
  • Read and understand the Company safety manual and driver manual including proper load securement, follow the 3-point rule for entering/exiting vehicle, wearing required PPE, pay attention to pinch points, and overall safe driving procedures to ensure the safety goals of the company are met.
  • Maintain current CDL and Medical Card and keep have in your possession at all times.
  • Fill out accident reports, injury reports, and near-miss reports, as required.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by TCC Materials Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid Department of Transportation Certified Commercial Drivers' License - Class A and a valid DOT Health Registration Card. Must have a Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
  • Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Moto Carrier Regulations, as well as meet company policy requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English and perform simple math skills such as addition and subtraction.
  • Forklift training as required by OSHA.
