We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller for our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, and managing cash flow. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional financial acumen, advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of the Real Estate/ Commercial Property Management industry.

Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Controller, you will be expected to:

1. Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable financial rules and regulations.
2. Oversee the preparation of journal entries, general ledger functions, and month-end closing activities.
3. Manage property management agreements, including the tracking of debt and the administration of property taxes.
4. Monitor and manage cash flow and cash management, ensuring the company's financial health and stability.
5. Develop and manage the company's budget, providing strategic financial guidance based on financial forecast and operational goals.
6. Prepare closing statements and HUD forms as required.
7. Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures, ensuring the company's compliance with financial regulations and standards.
8. Work closely with other team members to ensure the accuracy of financial data and the efficiency of financial operations.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the Real Estate/ Commercial Property Management industry.
3. Proficiency in financial reporting, journal entries, general ledger functions, and month-end closing activities.
4. Experience with property management agreements, debt tracking, taxes, and property tax.
5. Strong cash flow and cash management skills.
6. Experience in budgeting and financial forecasting.
7. Proficiency in preparing closing statements and HUD forms.
8. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Office 365.
9. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
11. A strong understanding of financial regulations and standards, with the ability to implement and maintain financial controls and procedures
12. Experience with YARDI would be highly preferred
