Job Description

We are looking to add a Thermal (HVAC) Junior Technician who is responsible for assisting other technicians with daily responsibilities associated with servicing our Commercial/Industrial HVAC customers. This Tech will learn more about Critical Infrastructure Data Centers and precision cooling experience and highly specialized HVAC/refrigeration equipment to service customer contracts.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • Assist Thermal technician and have ability to learn how to perform standard Preventative Maintenance duties on Commercial/Industrial HVAC Equipment
  • Assist technician and have ability to learn how to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, change out compressors, failed parts, etc. on all HVAC equipment
  • Has some understanding through classes of HVAC systems including split systems, DX systems, glycol, controls, etc.
  • Has some knowledge of how to assist with solder, braze refrigerant lines, water lines, etc.
  • Communicates daily with dispatcher and technicians on reporting job by job information about equipment ID, completed jobs, problems encountered, assistance needed with repairs
  • Has ability to learn to read and interpret schematics and control circuits
  • Interfaces with the customer on a professional basis and presents DVL in a positive light
  • Properly handles refrigerant, reclaim machine, vacuum pump, micron gauge and other essential tools
  • Works in a safe manner. Follows industry standard safety practices including knowledge of MSDS, tool safety, equipment safety and ladder safety guidelines
  • Safely and properly operates and maintains company vehicle and learns how to maintain a truck inventory
  • Establish relationships with other technicians to learn from them to be able to troubleshoot customer tickets
  • Satisfactory complete HVAC Training classes as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
  • One-year certificate from college or trade school
  • Universal Refrigerant Certification required
  • Ability to hookup a gauge set to equipment to troubleshoot refrigeration issues
  • Ability to utilize a multi-meter in troubleshooting electrical systems
  • Letter of recommendation from a college instructor
  • Basic in computer skills, experience in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Perform overtime duties when required

The pay range is $21.00 - $27.00/hr. or higher based on relevant experience plus bonus, laptop and iPhone.
