QAQC position will Implement and monitor Walker's quality control/quality assurance program on a commercial construction project. Ensure construction-related processes and materials are compliant with contract specifications, regulatory standards, and Walker's safety and operational policies and procedures. Mentor field personnel to ensure QA/QC compliance and proper implementation on a job-by-job basis.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in new project planning. Assist with determining the necessary installation technique(s).
- Conduct regular walk-through inspections. Evaluate each project and ensure conformance and compliance with contractual specifications, government regulations, and Walker and OSHA safety requirements.
- Inspect manufactured products, on-site materials/equipment and installation processes to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory standards.
- Document and communicate inspection results. Identify and recommend solutions for non-compliant situations. Follow through to ensure 100% compliance and conformance.
- Provide QA/QC feedback for each phase of the project.
- Assess product, compliance, or operational risks. Assist with the development of risk management strategies.
- Disseminate written policies and procedures related to QA/QC activities.
- Interpret specifications and clarify procedural issues for workers.
- Conduct training on and enforce Walker's hot work policy.
- Develop and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, and enforcement of compliance standards.
- Ensure the maintenance and submittal of appropriate and timely compliance reports, as contractually required.
- Discuss violations and potential stop-work orders with project management and supervision. Explain regulations and recommend rectifications.
- Train, direct and/or oversee subcontractor compliance, as necessary.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - Active TDLR Journeyman License
- Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical project management/supervision and/or Quality Assurance Program management
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, processes, and methods), in voltages up to 15kv
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations as well as company safety policies and procedures.
- OSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems before major difficulties develop.
- Solid MS Office skills and ability/desire to learn new software.
- Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Walker's partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc.
