JMT, currently ranked #61 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.nnJMT is seeking a Senior Inspector to perform as a senior level inspector, for work within Region 8 of the NYSDOT, in construction inspection engineering work.nnCompensation is $45.00-$68.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.nnEssential Functions and ResponsibilitiesnnCoordinate and supervise, in a limited capacity, project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standardsnIn a limited capacity, assign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the projectnPrepare project inspection reportsnNotify contractor of non-compliance and corrective actionnPerform field testsnInteracts with the general public, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties during the course of the constructionnWork on behalf of the Client to resolve construction related field issues.nnNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesnnPerform other related duties as assignednnRequired SkillsnnStrong Computer proficiencynActive driver's licensenMust successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screeningnnRequired ExperiencennHigh school diploma or equivalentnSuccessful prior experiences with the NYSDOT, preferably with R-8n8+ years of roadway construction inspection experiencenNICET III, ACI Concrete Inspection, Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) training and OSHA 10Hr certifications REQUIREDnKnowledge and experience in construction techniques, reading and understanding plans and specifications, procedures, methods, equipment and materialsnnQualifications preferrednnAssociates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringnnSupervisory experience in construction management/inspection situationsnnWorking ConditionsnnWork is performed in the field, within NYSDOT R-8. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work is conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid conditions.
