The Host serves as the first and last point of contact throughout the guest experience and is responsible for greeting guests while entering and departing the location, handling inquiries and reservations, and supporting in other areas of the operation as needed.nnMinimum Qualificationsnn1+ years experience as a Host in a fast-paced,high-volume service environment and/or equivalent relevant experiencennStrong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guestservice skillsnnAbility to consistently deliver high-quality guestexperiences, exceed guest expectations, and strive to create a memorableexperience at every City Winery visitnnEffective communication and interpersonal skills with aproven ability to build positive relationships with people in the scope ofemploymentnnAptitude to resolve problemsnnAbility to execute professional guest serviceexperiencennAbility to handle all guests with composure andhospitalitynnPolished presentationnnAbility to work both independently and in a teamenvironmentnnMust be fluently literate in English including abilityto read, write, communicate, conduct basic business related mathematics,and able to accurately function a POSnnAbility to work a flexible schedule including days,nights, weekends, and holidaysnnAbility to perform physical requirements of the roleincluding standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling,pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 25 poundsnnOverview of ResponsibilitiesnnProvide positive guest experience including greeting,conversing with, and thanking departing guestsnnEscort guests to seats and set them up for apleasurable dining experience based on appropriate floor plannnAccommodate guest requests while seeking managementapproval when appropriatennManage all call-ins and walk -in inquiries, directingto appropriate departmental contacts or taking messages andcommunicating to such departments as necessarynnEnsure all dining areas are tidy, presentable, and insafe condition and set up/rearrange/breakdown dining room for serviceaccordinglynnManage miscellaneous day-to-day communications,including but not limited to, voicemails, emails, deliveries, andreservation calls and communicate any important reservations/guestinquiries.nnMaintain all reservations/seating through designatedsystemnnProvide guests with accurate wait time estimates duringbusy periodsnnPerform necessary opening/closing tasksnnRotate seating between different stations to ensureeven workloads for waitstaffnnMaintain a knowledge of City Winery brand, history,culture, and programming, both in venue and restaurantnnMaintain menu knowledge, including ingredients,preparation methods, and allergen information andcommunicate this information tableside to guestsnnMaintain organized, clean, and safe work areas at alltimesnnAttend trainings, tastings, meetings, as needednnFollow all company policies, procedures, and guidelinesincluding being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform, withneat and presentable appearance.nnPerform all other reasonably assigned duties.nnWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at City Winery.
