Job DescriptionnnJoin our CDL-A OTR driver team "We Haul Wholesome" at Dairy Farmers of America - the leading milk marketing cooperative and dairy food processor within the United States.nnOur drivers transport bulk liquid dairy products. We are passionate about the farmer-owners, the dairy industry and supplying consumers with safe and nutritious products.nnCurrently hiring OTR drivers assigned to our SLC terminal.nnGENERAL PURPOSEnnOperate a truck and tanker, tractor-trailer, or double tanker up to three weeks at a time without home time, which may require completing 34-hour resets while away from home domicile. Pick up or deliver products in a safe and timely manner to customers, distributors, etc., according to the delivery route schedule as determined by the dispatcher or supervisor. Demonstrate high standards of customer service. Communicate frequently with peers, dispatchers, supervisors, and others.nnEarn up to $80,000 - $100,000 annuallynnJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESnnOperate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies, adhering to all safety practicesnnDeliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations in a safe and timely manner. Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnelnnReport delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdownsnnBased on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (varies from route to route)nnCommunicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to dispatch, the supervisor or the managernnEnsure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check, ) and maintain a clean vehiclennComplete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each Maintain all log and trip records according to company policy and DOT guidelinesnnPerform load inventory and document condition of freight before departurennAttend all driver workshops and training sessionsnnUse company supported applications or systems properlynnRepresent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individualsnnThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills Other duties may be assigned as requirednnWe offer Great Pay and Outstanding Benefits!nnCompetitive mileage pay based on experience up to $.66 per milenn3+ weeks of Vacation yearlynnMedical, Dental & Visionnn401(k) immediate matchnnHome every 2-3 weeksnnPaid orientationnnReset pay while on the roadnnShorter route = increased per mile paynnDetention paynnPaid holidaysnn2019 or newer model power unitsnnEmployee referral bonusnnRequirementsnnJob requirements:nnClass A CDL with tanker endorsementnn1 Years CDL-A driving experience w/in last 5 yearsnnMust pass DOT Medical examnnMust pass drug & alcohol clearing housenn21 years of agennMeet MVR requirementsnnEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:nnHigh school diploma or equivalent preferrednn1 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferrednnMust meet minimum age requirementsnnMust meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle RecordsnnMust meet all DOT requirementsnnCertification and/or License – valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement; some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsementnnKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:nnKnowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirementsnnSkill in proficient mobile device usennSkill with math for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurementsnnGood organization and record keeping skillsnnAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingnnAble to be proactive in seeking solutions, taking appropriate steps to solve problemsnnAble to follow directions and meet deadlinesnnAble to interpret and apply company policiesnnAble to perform task and duties with minimal supervisionnnAble to take initiative in performing jobnnMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishnnEEO/AA/Female/Minority/Disabled/VeterannnPay Range 60 cents / mile
