PTI is part of Perdue Farms, a family-owned company heading into its second century of growth and innovation.nnSummarynnTransport live chickens from poultry farms to the processing plant by means of tractor and trailer within required time constraints.nnThis position has a target wage of $28.50 per hour, plus time and a half, over 8 hours, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.nnIn addition to hourly wages. There is also a retention bonus of $ 600 at 30,60 and 90 days, and $1,200 at 6 months. Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vison, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.nnPrincipal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesnnMakes a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of truck and trailer and fill out DOT inspection forms at end of each trip.nnDrives to and from farms, making 1 to 4 trips day and night with a driving range of 30 minutes to 4 hours without a stop.nnMust carry cover during winter and assist with covering load when temperature is below 30 degrees.nnMust cross scale with tractor and trailer before going to farms and when returning fill trucks with fuel before scaling the full load.nnMake sure empty modular are secured before leaving plant and make sure full modulers are secured before returning.nnMinimum EducationnnHigh School or equivalentnnExperience Requirementsnn2 years experience. Reading, writing and math skills are required. Must have a valid commercial driver's license (class A) and meet all relevant requirements provided by the company Safety department.nnExperience PreferrednnEnvironmental Factors and Physical RequirementsnnThe driver cab is climate controlled. Exposed to seasonal weather and temperature conditions occasionally at the farms. Ability to remain seated up to 3 hours while operating tractor and trailer.
