Inspired Every Day.nn**Casual (1-2 shifts a week) Days, Evenings, and NightsnnPay Range: $17.55-$19.55 / Commensurate with relevant work experience. Generous extra pay for evenings, weekends and additional shifts.nnResident Care AssistantnnThe resident care assistant will provide personal care services, assistance, support and supervision to residents. The resident care assistant also will provide housekeeping services to residents and assist with activities and food service.nnESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSnnAssist residents with daily grooming, bathing, dressing as needed.nnAssist in the development and updating of each resident’s care plan.nnProvide ADL assistance to residents via Optimus system.nnStraighten residents’ apartment daily and make bed.nnRespond to all PERS alerts via the company pager in a timely manner. Make sure pagers remain on site and are turned over to a responsible person on each shift.nnStrip and remake residents’ bed weekly.nnDo personal laundry for residents weekly or as required.nnAssist residents with picking up trash and disposing of expired food in the apt.nnMonitor changes in residents’ appetite.nnServe residents’ meals from kitchen as needed.nnAssist in the dining room during meals as needed.nnAssist with the activity program, conduct activities as directed by the activity coordinator or assigned by supervisor.nnAssure residents get to appointments, activities, and meals.nnProvide one-on-one support/visitation to assigned residents as needed.nnEncourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities.nnEncourage socialization among residents.nnCommunicate all pertinent information to other staff in a timely manner.nnRequirementsnnQUALIFICATIONS:nnCertification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) is required.nnBasic First Aid is also required.nnMust possess high school diploma or equivalent with reading, comprehension and writing ability at 12th grade level or higher.nnExperience or interest in working with older adults.nnStrong team approach to working with other staff.nnAbility to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.nnPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to occasionally lift loads of 50 pounds without assistance and the ability to sit, talk, and hear is required. The employee exercises some initiative and independent judgment to effectively perform the essential job duties of this position.nnRESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS:Employee has no responsibility for others.nnSAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:Shall be fully acquainted with all safety policies and procedures of all Assisted Living locations. Takes an active role in all fire drills during the shift and/or emergencies for internal and external disasters as monitored by supervisor and incident manager. Must comply with facility in-service requirements.nnMaintain confidentiality of all information related to the organization, residents, participants, family and staff, that may be encountered, either formally or informally, during the normal course of business. This includes medical and treatment records, financial and human resources information.
