General InformationnnJob Title: Heavy Haul Driver (Line)nnDate Posted: 07/18/2022nnLocation: Anchorage TerminalnnCompensation and HoursnnMinimum Salary: DOEnnMaximum Salary: DOEnnType of Job: Full TimennBenefits: Health/Dental/Vision/401KnnAnticipated Job Duration: None SelectednnJob DescriptionnnPosition Profile:nnThis position is responsible for the loading, unloading and driving of diesel-powered trucks to transportnnheavy and oversized loads.nnEssential Dutiesnn• Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and proceduresnn• Inspect truck and trailer(s) for defects through pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit reportsnnindicating their conditionnn• Operate a variety of trucks and equipment under a variety of conditions, adhering to posted speednnlimits and all other local, state, and federal laws and regulationsnn• Maintain driver e-logs and maintenance e-logs according to State and Federal regulationsnn• Make customer pick-ups and deliveries in a manner that reflects superior customer servicenn• Spot trailers to warehouse, chock wheels, and may assist in loading and unloading trailersnn• Maintain hands-free telephone contact with terminal to receive accurate dispatch instructionsnn• Ensure cargo is secured for transport according to FMCSRs and Carlile requirementsnn• Maintain a clean work environment including swept trailer, clean cab, windows, and mirrorsnn• Determine discrepancies in paperwork and verify proper placarding when hauling HAZMATnn• Perform other duties as assignednnQualificationsnn• High school diploma or GED equivalentnn• Class A CDL with all endorsements (or ability to get all endorsements)nn• Two years of verifiable safe tractor-trailer driving experience; previous heavy haul experiencennpreferrednnKnowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesnn• Ability to load and unload machinery to a lowboy trailer; flatbed securement experiencenn• Ability to safety transport heavy and oversize loads; handle heavy chains and blockingnn• Familiar with dove/beaver tail trailers, as well as 40-65 ton RGN’s preferrednn• Ability to supervise pilot car drivers and direct pilot car activitynn• Able to work various shifts, days of the week, overtime and occasional overnight/out-of-town worknn• Record of safe and competent driving as demonstrated on driver’s abstract and driving files.nn• Experience in snow and ice road conditionsnn• Willing to learn and take instructions with a positive attitudenn• Ability to maintain a TWIC cardnn• Impeccable character, integrity, and unfailing initiative in a team environmentnn• Must have a current Passport or birth certificate, with the ability to enter Canada and militarynnInstallationsnn• Must be customer focused and represent Carlile in a professional and friendly mannernnWorking EnvironmentnnWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions (extreme cold and inclement conditions – snow, ice, rain, wind, etc.).
