The Electrical Preconstruction QA Engineer (Tampa, Florida) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, materials, and designs planned during the preconstruction phase meet quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in risk mitigation by identifying potential issues before construction begins, collaborating with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the best design solutions for electrical systems by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
• Ensure electrical designs meet national and international codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA) and local regulations.
• Apply code knowledge to light, power, telecom, and fire alarm systems.
• Identify potential quality and constructability risks and work with stakeholders to mitigate them.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and preconstruction meetings with stakeholders.
• Perform photometric studies, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, QA/QC, or construction quality management.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, NFPA, ISO).
• Electrical and mechanical design experience preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
