Primary Purpose:
To support the F-1 International Student Program and Development Programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Must possess U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency, as mandated by federal regulations.
Knowledge/Skills:
Extremely detail-oriented
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of F-1 International Student Programs
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual (Chinese/Spanish) preferred
Customer service skills
Experience:
Experience interacting and communicating with people form a diverse cultural background required
Experience working international students, especially high school students, preferred
Experience in SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) and the immigration laws, regulations and processes preferred
Experience as a Designated School Official preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
F-1 International Student Program
• Navigate international families through the application process and requirements to help them complete the application successfully
• Collect, review, and process all F-1 International Student Program applications.
• Evaluate transcripts and credential from applicants to determine appropriate admission decisions • Collect required visa documents from international student candidates and guide them through the F-1 visa application process in a compassionate and creative way.
• Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO): issue I-20s, maintain students records, manage SEVIS records, monitor SEVIS deadlines, update I-17 as needed, and more to maintain SEVIS compliance
• General office administration and data management (entry, review, maintenance)
• Educate international students on F-1 regulations and help students maintain F-1 status
• Assist with current international students with all aspects of program participation and compliance.
• Serve as general advisor internally and externally on F-1 related matters.t
• Assist with international students’ mentor Activities and student trips as needed
• Assist the Director of International Students with needs of international students as needed
Other
• Answer and respond to inquiries, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
• Maintain confidentiality
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Additional Work Demands:
• Willingness to travel to program sites and events.
• Availability for working some evenings and weekends is required
• Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service.
