Job title :: Group Leader (Production- Global Supply Chain)
Duration :: 50 Weeks Contract (Possible Extension OR Permanent)
Location :: Detroit, MI 48211 (ONSITE)
Shift :: (Should be available for any Shift based on requirement)
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Ensure all necessary data/information for flawless material flow is available.
- Coordinate material flow activities across departments.
- Support achievement of BPD/Scorecard metrics.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls within the material flow function.
Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in material handling.
People:
- Collaborate with material supervisors to support daily operations.
- Assist stockmen with inventory and material management.
- Communicate receiving processes to unloading and receiving areas.
Quality:
- Ensure accurate inventories for components, press, and assembly materials through proper inventory control processes.
- Interface with suppliers, LLP, and plant personnel to resolve material-related issues.
- Monitor pull systems through periodic audits.
- Evaluate the PPS Concerned Parts Report daily and take necessary action.
- Follow up on Alarm 2 and Alarm 5 alerts as part of the 5 Alarm Process.
- Resolve floor issues such as min/max conditions, packaging compliance, labeling discrepancies, and part misuse.
- Investigate and resolve supplier non-conformances and manage part buffers using regional tools.
- Participate in the PFEP team and manage source changes.
- Investigate material discrepancies such as record errors, part misuse, specification issues, unaccounted scrap, or potential theft.
- Maintain plant material records and supplier parameters.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and GMS elements.
- Perform receiving/material receipt analysis and follow up on discrepancies.
Responsiveness:
- Work with plant teams to process Aftersales/Service parts orders based on system requirements.
Cost Management:
- Investigate premium transportation issues and perform MR analysis.
- Verify carrier claim validity and assist in resolving logistics-related issues.
- Manage supplier over shipments and coordinate material returns.
- Coordinate inter-plant and SPO sales as well as inventory disposal.
- Support floor activities, counts, and operations readiness, including collaboration with third-party partners.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. A degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of material flow and inventory management (must have).
- Familiarity with container packaging management (nice to have).
- Experience with receiving processes, audits, and engineering change data transfers (MGO/SAP).
- Ability to perform supplier evaluations and manage pick-up sheet process adherence.
