About You
- As the Insurance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the risk management and insurance team in the day-to-day operations of the Risk Management Division. Primary responsibilities include:
- Management, review, and processing of all Certificates of Insurance (COI).
- Management of all evidence of insurance including automobile identification cards and workers compensation posting notices.
- Management of the surety bond program.
- Assistance with the collection of insurance underwriting data for insurance renewals.
- Collection, review, and maintenance of all Member mandated insurance policies.
- Coordination and management of all jurisdictional boiler and machinery inspection processes.
- Use of various technology systems to successfully perform their duties.
What You’ll Do
- Daily processing of Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests from Wakefern, Members, and third parties
- Management of vendor Certificates of Insurance through the Coupa and RMIS platforms
- Manage requests for new surety bonds, identify bonds which should be renewed or canceled, and assist Members with surety bond inquiries
- Assistance with the collection of data required to complete insurance applications, such as email requests for information, and preparing spreadsheets to summarize Member policy information
- Initiate calls with the insurance brokers prior to insurance renewals to coordinate the distribution of certificates of insurance, auto identification cards, workers’ compensation posting notices, etc.
- Work with insurance brokers following each renewal to prepare insurance manuals to be posted on the LINK platform
- Coordinate and manage the Jurisdictional Boiler and Machinery inspection process with the property insurance carriers to ensure all locations are inspected, certificates are distributed and posted, and deficiencies are resolved
- Review insurance policy documents and be able to identify inconsistencies in the information which was provided
- Add and update Wakefern and Member locations in Origami
- Generate email correspondence to advise the Risk Management team and 3rd parties of newly opened or closed locations
- Request, review and maintain the Members’ mandated insurance policies in Origami, and be able to generate reports to summarize this information
What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent (college graduate preferred)
- Minimum 1-3 years of insurance experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Strong technical skills (proficient in Microsoft Office)

- Hybrid schedule – work four days per week in Edison, NJ office. Flexibility to work fifth day at home
