Mantell Associates is partnered with a Biotech organisation who are searching for a Battery Scientist. The Battery Scientist I is a key position within Research & Development who leads projects that stretches the bounds of what was previously thought possible in batteries.

Battery Scientist - Responsibilities:

• Work with R&D Team to source, synthesize, formulate and/or characterize new materials and components in battery applications
• Partner with Manufacturing Team to scale new discoveries to application-interesting sizes and volumes
• Contribute technical writing to reports, patents and grant
• Stay abreast of the state of the art in the battery industry
• Other duties as assigned

Battery Scientist - Requirements:

• PhD in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics
• An additional 0-2+ years of post-graduate work in the battery industry, with preference for startups
• Direct experience working on battery cells and battery cell materials
• Creative thinker and strong a faculty for learning
• Ability to advance multiple projects in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment
• Verifiable track record of discovery and development in next-generation Lithium-ion batteries
• Deep knowledge of fundamental electrochemistry and understanding of critical battery tradeoffs
• Strong and verifiable written/verbal communication skills
