Title: Counsel (Employment Law) Location: New York City
Our client is looking for an experienced lawyer with a strong background in employment law to join their Legal team. This role is based in their New York City office.
This role requires extremely close teamwork and collaboration within the Legal team and with People Operations.
Responsibilities
• Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advise accordingly
• Partner with HR on employment-related legal matters, including but not limited to offers and separations, data privacy, employee handbooks, etc.
• Strategize and manage post-employment negotiations and dispute resolutions
• Supervise outside counsel on employment-related matters
Qualifications
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required
• 1O+ years of experience practicing employment law
• In-house experience is a must
• In-depth knowledge of US employment law
• Familiarity with employment laws in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Ireland, China and/or India strongly preferred
• Experience in the financial services industry preferred but not required
