PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the hotel.
SCOPE
This position is expected to work with the Housekeeping Department to ensure that proper cleaning of each suite in the hotel is met with quality and in a time efficient manner. This position reports to Head Housekeeper the General Manager of the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for cleaning all suites assigned each day.
- Ensure all carpets are vacuumed and spot cleaned if needed.
- Dusts all furniture (picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TV's and dressers)
- Removes fingerprints and smudges (ex: mirrors, shiny surfaces, windows, etc.)
- Ensure that bathroom areas are thoroughly cleaned - wash shower stall, sink, floor, toilet, etc.)
- Make sure that rooms are cleaned in compliance with the brand standard.
- Report all damages found in a room immediately.
- Report all missing items in room and report personal guest items found in vacant rooms immediately upon discovery.
- Notify Head housekeeper of all rollways or cribs in rooms for pick-up and storage.
- Take responsibility for pass key and make sure it is turned in daily.
- Turn in all "lost and found" items to a Guest Service Representative
- Report to Head housekeeper:
- No luggage
- No Service needed.
- Sleep outs
- Extra Guests.
- Anything Unusual
- Shut off all lights, TV's, and air conditioners when leaving the room
- Assist housekeepers in any additional cleaning chores that may be assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The Housekeeper must demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:
- Customer Service experience
- Comprehension of Spirit Hospitality and hotel's housekeeping scheduling system
- Comprehension of IHG brand standards regarding cleaning and guest suites layout
This Position must demonstrate the following mental and physical skills:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to learn and adapt to technology used within the hotel
- Excellent verbal and listening communication skills

- Ability to work well independently and in a group
- Ability to stand for eight hours

WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Demands The Housekeeper will have to spend 8 to 10 hours a day standing and walking. This position will be required to bend at the knees and waist, squat, reach over-head, and extend arms out in front. This position is also required to do some light lifting of supplies and furniture approximately 30lbs estimated and push or pull up to 50lbs. This position works in an indoor setting but will be required to collect and dispose of trash in outside receptacles. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Environmental Conditions The Housekeeper may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of guests. This position may find the environment to be busy and noisy.
Salary Description
$16.00 to $16.50 per hour
