Job Summary: The Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for managing the point-of-care testing processes within the laboratory. This role involves ensuring quality control, regulatory compliance, and effective communication among healthcare staff. The coordinator will also oversee training, troubleshooting, and the integration of POCT into patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of point-of-care testing.
- Ensure that all POCT procedures comply with established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and implement training programs for staff on POCT procedures and equipment.
- Provide ongoing education and support to healthcare providers on the use of POCT.
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and quality control.
- Analyze data to improve processes and patient outcomes.
Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in laboratory settings, particularly with point-of-care testing.
- Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in data management and laboratory information systems.
