Medical Center is looking for a locum-to-perm Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurology physician
- M-F inpatient/ED Neurology call coverage from 8a-5p (inpatient service is not overwhelmingly busy)
- Mornings are spent on new consults and rounding, with time available at the end of the day to see additional requests prior to shift ending at 5p
- New consult daily average is 2-3; follow up average is 4-5
- Afternoon outpatient clinic for 2 hours from 1p-3p; will see a combo of patients (new consults, post-hospital visits, established patients with an acute need)
- They are a regional educational institution with both family medicine and internal medicine residency programs; resident education is a requirement and there may be a resident rotating with locum during the duration of assignment
- Join the team of 1 Neurologist and 2 Advanced Practice Providers
- Small outpatient clinic with about 6 patients per day
- MUST BE COMFORTABLE COVERING STROKE; Patients presenting with stroke-like symptoms are the primary patients that they see.

- Inpatient/Outpatient split
- All surgical procedures available, except transplants; limited pediatrics; support OB, Cath Lab, and ED.
- Required neurology procedure: Brain Death exam
- Sub-specialty interest in EEG, EMG, Epilepsy, Sleep, MS, and Movement Disorders welcome in the context of general Neurology
- Participate in Grand Rounds
- Non-burdensome call - possibly unrestricted night call during that time (does not need to stay in house, but must be within 30 min response time)
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Sun-Sat), 10-hour days (potentially 8-hour days, but TBD)
- 2-4 new patient consults per day
- 6-8 patients total daily on average (new consults and follow-ups included)
- Take all neurology inpatient/ED/network consult requests
- Teaching expectation (will likely have IM/FM resident accompanying them)
- 50% over age 65; 32% age 45-64; 17% age 19-44 (Pediatrics is possible but very infrequent, most common consult diagnosis is seizures)
- 1 nursing support on staff
- Lab onsite
- X-ray on site
- EMR: Cerner
- Level III Trauma
- 8-10 weeks credentialing timeframe
- Physician support before, during, and after each procedure
- Open to IMLC candidate
