Description Warehouse Customer Service Arnold Lumber Company is a full-service lumberyard offering building materials, a full line of masonry supplies, cabinetry, and a Kitchen & Bath Design Center Showroom with locations in Bristol, Wakefield, Westerly, and the Headquarters based in West Kingston.

PURPOSE: As warehouse customer service, you will perform a variety of duties including picking and staging orders for walk-in customers and deliveries. You will also direct and assist customers with product location and selection within the West Kingston campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Act as a Liaison with counter sales for customer service in the warehouse and yard
- First Point-of-Contact, Warehouse Associate, and Order Picker for walk-in customers
- Maintain the integrity of products through proper handling and storage
- Responsible for general housekeeping to ensure our warehouse/yard standards are met in a safe and professional manner. This includes sweeping, consolidation of produce, organizing products, and other tasks as necessary
- Accurately organize and pick all necessary products for needed transfers, work orders, or deliveries
- Communicate any discrepancies immediately with Department Manager
- Stage or palletize products in a safe and secure manner
- Process all transactions in a timely fashion
- Complete Forklift Pre-Trip Inspections and accompanying documentation
OTHER JOB DUTIES: - Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and machinery used in the position
- Attend training and self-learning opportunities to keep up to date on products and offerings
- Maintain OSHA Forklift Operator certification and follow all safety regulations required by OSHA and Arnold Lumber Company.
All other duties Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks
Qualifications COMPETENCIES/SKILLS :
- Ability to follow instructions both written and verbal
- Ability to learn through video, reading, instruction, or a combination of all
- Ability to use and understand scan gun capabilities and proper procedures
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently on assigned tasks
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS: - Standing, climbing, bending and lifting to 80 lbs.
- Ability to operate small tools and tape measures.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Understanding of two-way radios
- Forklift experience preferred
