To provide excellent patient care, and actively participate in the care of patient's in the Endoscopy unit. Assists theprofessional staff with meeting the needs of the Endoscopy patients. Provides technical assistance and assists physicianswith diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the GI lab. Participates in the maintenance of endoscopes and otherspecialized equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures. Maintains the endoscopy washers and workswith the bio-med engineer to keep all equipment in proper working condition. Assists the clerical staff in making up patientpackets and makes follow-up call to ASC patients. May need to work beyond the regular tour of duty, will be required totake call and be able to report for duty within 30 minutes of notification or work in another patient care unit as assigned bydepartment head or nursing supervisor.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation:Minimum Education: Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language. Ability toproperly clean and disinfect scopes and equipment. Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environmentExperience:Required: 1 year of clinical experiencePreferred Experience: 1-2 years of Endoscopy experience.Licenses/Certificates:Required Certification/Licensure: Current Florida license or certification as a nursing assistant or medical assistant; BLS
