Job Summary
The Production Coordinator I is responsible for safety, environmental, quality, operation, optimization and improvement of production process; including training, supervision and coordination of the activities of varied personnel involved in the daily operations of the plant as directed by the Operations Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure safety conditions and behaviors during day to day operations and outage, to protect the people and the product and highlight to upper management any additional needs to close gaps and reach Zero4Life
- Adhere to all CEMEX, MSHA, O.S.H.A., and other safety rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Ensure people have skills needed to perform in a safe and productive manner
- Participate on safety committees, risk assessment, training, standard work, assist in developing safety programs, monitor plant operations to assist in ensuring safe job performance
- Participate in near miss and accident investigations
- Ensure environmental compliance according to state and federal rules and regulations (such as method 22, method 9, etc), reagents availability and proper functionality of environmental control equipment
- Work towards and ensure quality of products at optimal cost and proper functionality of quality control equipment
- Trains employees concerning operating procedures, equipment functionality, evaluates and helps to close the gap with skills matrix, abilities, safety practices and behavior
- Reports and corrects any unsafe or questionable areas and practices to management as soon as possible
- Ensures plant operations, quality control and production by designated crews meet or exceed the requirements outlined by the Production Manager
- Determines when process parameters need to be altered to increase reliability, throughput or reduce/increase labor
- Assigns work schedules and authorizes overtime and time-off as permitted by the needs of the department and in accordance with company policies
- Ensures the completion of required documentation to complete the job
- Completes the required production reporting at the end of each shift
- Meet or exceed autonomous maintenance routines
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in operations or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent education or experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work scheduled hours
- Team Lead or Managerial Experience
- Working with cement is a plus
- Familiar with manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong networking, interpersonal and teamwork/collaboration skills
- Ability to use a computer, MS Office Software, email and operation software
- Result oriented, identifies issues and drives the decision process
- Previous cement process experience is a plus.
- Has Supervised and led others in industrial environment; has potential to lead and grow teams and be team player.
- Detail oriented and ability to set priorities and complete goals and objectives in a timely and orderly manner
- Demonstrated trouble shooting ability through their team and collaboration with other departments
- Self-motivated, fast-learner in high paced working environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Efficient and effective communicator
- Knowledge of cement and clinker quality
- Ability to manage people
Working Conditions
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outdoors
- Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
- This is a shift position which will require working nights, evenings, weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule
- Capability to work extended hours are necessary
Physical Requirements
- Long periods of standing/walking required
- Exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to significant degree
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen, to communicate to employees/visitors

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $66,600.00/yr to $79,800.00/yr, depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education.
