Identity and Access Management Specialist Full-time

As an IAM Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and securing access to organizational resources by designing, implementing, and maintaining identity and access management solutions. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that access controls and security policies align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding sensitive information and preventing unauthorized access to systems and data.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement IAM strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of access controls.
Design, configure, and maintain IAM systems, including authentication, authorization, and user provisioning/deprovisioning processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions with existing systems and applications.
Conduct access reviews and audits to identify and remediate security risks and compliance issues.
Provide technical support and guidance to users and stakeholders on IAM-related issues and best practices.
Monitor IAM systems for anomalies and security breaches, and respond promptly to incidents.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in IAM and cybersecurity to continuously improve security posture.
Assist in the development of IAM-related documentation, such as policies, standards, and procedures.
Participate in IT projects and initiatives to ensure that IAM requirements are addressed from inception to implementation.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support compliance assessments and regulatory audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting IAM solutions in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID), directory services (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory), and identity governance.
Familiarity with IAM technologies such as identity federation, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access management (PAM).
Experience with IAM tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Identity Manager, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Intune, AD Manager Plus (Zoho), or similar solutions.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, particularly as they relate to access control and user authentication.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with On Prem and cloud based IAM solutions (e.g., Azure AD, AWS IAM).
Familiarity with identity lifecycle management processes and workflows.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
