Job Description SUMMARY This is a part-time role that provides safe transportation for anyone riding the tour bus to and from various Cherokee Nation cultural and partnering sites. Part-time benefits are available!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following:
- Provides safe and secure transportation of cultural tourism guests.
- Assists guests with luggage, bags, and/or other items such as wheelchairs, etc.
- Maintains a trip log on a per trip basis; records drivers' names, trip locations, trip dates, odometer reading, time of departure, and return time.
- Maintains a pre-trip inspection and maintenance log and reports any issues with the bus that might pose a public risk or vehicular risk to leadership.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the bus inside and out, as well as, stocking any provisions requested by guests.
- Will train on basic knowledge of Cherokee Nation cultural tourism sites, events, and programs.
- Provides information courteously and professionally to guests.
- Maintains knowledge of state and federal driving laws, as well as, licensing requirements to transport passengers.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY No supervisory/management authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience. Chauffeur or CDL license required (CNB is willing to help cover the cost of a CDL license if an applicant has past driving experience). Requires extended trips and irregular hours.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work will be performed in a mobile vehicle. Requires handling of average-weight objects of up to 25 lbs. Requires long hours of sitting. Must have good vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities are required. Work involves almost constant exposure of motion, varying temperatures, and/or loud noises and may involve some exposure to physical risks that require following basic safety precautions.
