A Quality Technician is available in Tualatin, Oregon at Milgard Windows and Doors The Shift is Monday - Friday starting at 2:00 pm with the shift duration being 8 to 11 hoursThis is an hourly position with the pay of $23.50 with a $2.00 shift differential In this role, you will perform in-process and final inspection of insulated glass units, windows, and doors in accordance with established inspection standards.You will collect, prepare, and analyze data for corrective action and process improvement.To ensure a stable operation, you will perform process audits of equipment setup and conditions.When problems arise, you will inspect, quarantine, and problem solve with Production Leads/Supervisors. Why work at MITER BRANDSQuality Technician responsibilities include: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures related to all facets of the job.Proper usage of personal protective equipmentPerform in-process and final inspection of insulated glass units, windows, and doorsConduct random daily Water Intrusion Tests to finished products to comply with AAMA water rating standards and record the resultsPerform process audits of equipment setup and conditions to ensure process controls are observedAssist production in identifying root cause of defect trends. Recommend corrective/containment action as appropriateReviews rejects and defect trends with Production Leads/SupervisorsCalculates quality scores from inspection and audit resultsMake recommendation of problem containment and/or corrective action to Production Leads and SupervisorsCollect, prepare, and analyze data for corrective action and process improvementContainment of finished goods and/or work in-progress for defects affecting form/fit/function/appearanceProvide corrective and supportive feedback to Team Members regarding process and product qualityIssue formal Corrective Action ReportsReports problems and issues to supervisor and production managementAny additional responsibilities or duties assignedQualifications: 2 years related experience in manufacturing, where quality control tasks were a central part of job responsibilities.Minimum High School Diploma or EquivalentClear spoken and written English skillsBasic shop math skills: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, fraction/decimal conversion, calculate percentageBasic skills in word processing and spreadsheet applicationsConflict management skillsAssertive communication skills including active listening and paraphrasing for understandingManage multiple tasks and effective prioritization skillsParticipate or lead a problem solving teamBasic understanding of DMAIC process and common toolsUnderstanding of manufacturing value stream from receiving to shippingInterpret engineering drawingsAbility to influence others toward positive changeInitiative to start and complete tasks on timeAbility to work in a team environmentPhysical RequirementsUse hands to perform power graspingReach above/below shoulder levelBend & twist at the neck or waistStand/walkUse hands/fingers to perform keyboarding tasksLift, carry over 50 pounds alone, up to 100 pounds with assistanceClose vision, color perception, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focusOvertime may be requiredWork Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee:Regularly is exposed to excessive noise, dust, fumes, or chemicals on the shop floorOccasionally works in a climate-controlled office where the sound level is quietRegularly wears personal protective equipment on the shop floorOur benefits package includes coverage of your health, wealth, and wellness for you and your eligible spouse/dependents.
