Tow Truck Driver Duration: 12+ Months contract with possibility of extension or FTE
Location: Dearborn, MI 48124
Work hours: M-F 8am - 4:30pm
Job Description: Please note: - We are looking for local on road Class B minimum.
- CDL-A, Air Brake, previous car hauler, and towing experience is a plus.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Summary: - The Heavy-Duty Wrecker Driver will recover disabled vehicles.
- The role will assist in testing equipment and components.
- The Heavy-Duty Wrecker Driver will comply with all applicable rules and regulations and follow specialized instructions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Recovery of disabled commercial vehicles.
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty wrecker in its full capacity.
- Assist engineering in testing concept and prototype components.
- Observe all posted traffic signs and drive safely with flow of traffic.
- Comply with all applicable
- local traffic laws.
- Follow any procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety.
- Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
Education and Experience (required): - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial wrecker driving experience.
- Minimum 3 years of heavy load and oversized load hauling experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of mountain and winter driving experience.
- Good driving record.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required): - Extensive knowledge of vehicle weight displacement, limitations, and capabilities, when operating a heavy-duty wrecker.
- Knowledge of applicable laws related to the operation of the vehicle to ensure all necessary
- licensing and permitting is in compliance.
- Good sense of direction with the ability to read maps and follow and take driving directions.
- Ability to safely operate vehicle in a variety of environmental and weather conditions for
