JOB SUMMARY The Quality Inspector is responsible for examining, tracking, and reporting manufactured homes to ensure they meet required quality standards and specifications at multiple points in the home-setting and finalization process. This role involves performing inspections at various stages of production, documenting findings, and collaborating with other departments to address any quality issues.JOB FUNCTIONS InspectionsTravel to conduct thorough on-site inspections of homes throughout various stages of the home transport and installation.Conduct visual inspections of home materials, monitoring consistency in quality and notating damages or deficiencies with the lens of HouseSmart Construction quality standards.Conduct inspections on various materials of the interior and exterior of each home, including for work performed and materials on top of the house, under the house, and throughout all spaces inside the house.Keep up to date on HouseSmart Construction quality standards, assisting in the development of additional standards with growth.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.Identify root causes of quality issues and work with leadership and various internal teams to address and resolve quality-related issues.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to quality control.Participate in continuous improvement programs and contribute to enhancing quality assurance processes.Documentation and ReportingIdentify and document findings that are relevant, showing inconsistent or unacceptable quality or possible areas of concern through each individual inspection.Notate throughout the inspection process when and how damage likely occurred.Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure corrective actions have been implemented, when and as needed. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or vocational training in Quality Assurance or a related field a plus. Bachelors degree in a related field a plus.Years of Related Experience: 2-5 year's experience in residential construction or manufactured housing, preferred. Previous experience in a quality inspection or similar role is advantageous. If no experience, strong desire to learn manufactured housing quickly.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently. Travel requirements will be up to 80% of the time.Experience in conducting workplace inspections and investigations, a plus.Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information.Communication skills and ability to relay information efficiently and effectively required.Experience and comfortability in Excel and/or Smartsheet a plus.Ability to work independently and act proactively, reporting back findings frequently and in a detailed manner.Desire and ability to work respectfully on customer's properties and within new homes of our customers a must.Physical ability to perform on-site inspections, including climbing, walking, stooping, and lifting.WORK ENVIRONMENTDoes this position have special working conditions or physical demands?
