We want consistent and predictable operations done the right way, every time. Rancho LPG Holdings is currently looking to fill the role of Rail Loader/Relief Operator based in San Pedro, CA. The responsibility of the loader is to pump liquefied petroleum products into or out of tank cars, trucks, or tanks. You will also provide backup coverage as a relief operator for vacation or sick coverage of existing operators. This is an integral role within the company that requires team work, dependability and strong safety focus. #plainResponsibilities:Ensure adherence to safety standards in accordance with company policy and legislated requirements.Verify railcar numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate placement of cars.Connect, disconnect, gauge, and seal LPG railcars as the loading and unloading process requires.Interact with the Rail line and Plains staff regarding receipt, inspection, and shipment of railcars.Perform mechanical troubleshooting for respective loading equipment; perform pump and valve maintenance and visual inspection.Perform safety system testing and periodic inspection/calibration of equipment.Understand the flow rates of product in conjunction with car loading, unloading and product movement to meet daily volume requirements.Provide project support as required based on trade qualifications.Prepares a sample for laboratory testing.Operate pumps or compressors to introduce compressed LPG vapors into the tank car to push liquids into the storage tanks.Load and unload LPG transports.Terminal Boss administration and data entry.Perform monthly rail and loading rack preventative maintenance work orders and the Loader's Daily Plant inspection checklist.Assist mechanics and operators with facility maintenance, painting, and various projects.Enforce company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.Maintain all required certifications to perform loader duties as outlined in the PSM requirements.Operator: Responsible for operating a refrigerated LPG storage terminal that manages pipeline, truck, and rail movements.Perform other pipeline-related tasks or projects as deemed necessary by the Operations Supervisor.Inspects perimeter fencing, locks, etc., to maintain proper facility, pipeline, and ROW security and addresses and reports any infractions.Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED);Successful completion of online skills test3 years of previous loading or rail operations experienceAble to read and interpret P&IDs is considered an asset.Able to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs/ladders/work at heights, and work outside in inclement weather conditions.Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts to draw valid conclusions.Strong safety orientation.Confidence in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and ability to work with minimal supervision.Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Permanent residency within 25 miles of the facility is mandatory; must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts.Completion of the company's Drug & Alcohol program and background checks are conditions of employment.The hourly wage for this position is $32.48/per hour.Our employees drive our success.
