Job Summary
The Expeditor will generally coordinate with and expedite suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of supplier data, materials and equipment in support of project schedules; certify supplier progress for payment purposes; and participate in performance evaluation process of suppliers.
Essential Functions
- Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values".
- Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics".
- Uses Penta, OnBase, Share Point, Sequel Server or other company business system and other available reports to expedite suppliers for on-time data submittals and material deliveries for assigned projects.
- Contacts suppliers and updates progress / expediting reports on daily basis.
- Maintains logs with schedules, progress, and shipping status of materials and equipment and reviews results with Procurement Manager and Project Management.
- Issues regular expediting status reports as required.
- Visits suppliers from time to time to verify status of progress or review corrective actions.
- May assist Quality group in coordinating non-conformance resolution and/or QA releases with suppliers.
- Coordinates shipping with Procurement, Logistics, and site Materials Management personnel.
- Takes positive steps in consultation with Project Management when possible to improve supplier performance as demanded by schedule.
- May assist the Materials Management group by creating material receiving transactions in Penta or other company business systems.
- Supports supplier performance evaluation process.
- Represents Procurement in project meetings and/or leads meetings with suppliers as required.
- Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- BS in Business, Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and expediting experience required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in procurement administration, expediting, scheduling and accounting, with extensive knowledge in a manufacturing and production environment for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company is required.
- Procurement or Supply Chain environment with an energy related sector background is desired.
- Experience with ERP business system preferred.
- Computer skills include an intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, as well as exposure to Penta, Dynamics, SAP and Sequel Server.
- Strong internal and external communication and negotiation skills are necessary, as well as superior attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to provide innovative solutions for to help resolve issues.
- Occasional overtime and willingness to travel 20% - 30% of the time as needed/required.
